Patients with low back pain and movement control impairment show altered spinal movement patterns. This review of randomised controlled trials looked at a total of 781 patients, and suggests there is “very low to moderate quality” evidence of a positive effect of movement control exercise. The initial identification of patients with movement control impairment is an important factor in determining effectiveness.
